Hamilton Golf Club

Course Redevelopment Project 2019 - 2022

Follow this link for more information about the redevelopment of bunkers, green surrounds and trees at Hamilton Golf Club.

To play the Hamilton Golf Club is to be immersed in our great game in its true form. Located in the suburb of St. Andrews, the course is an embodiment of the core values that the game was established upon at the other ‘St. Andrews’ in Scotland.

Holes that invite courage and boldness are tempered with other holes where restraint may yield superior results. Tempt fate at the Par 5 4th where the green may be in reach but lurking just to the right is the mighty Waikato River. Display discipline and embrace strategy to conquer the 292 metre short Par 4 7th. The signature 18th requires full commitment but even then your confidence and courage will be questioned on the tee as you analyse the five bunkers encircling the green on this elevated par 3.

Thoughtful tree planting since opening more than 100 years ago, has created a parkland course that meanders elegantly across its riverside layout. Stunning contours are emphasized at key locations and contribute to the overall puzzle. Unearth your true strengths as a player as you have your entire game put into question.

Hamilton Golf Club has proudly hosted numerous top amateur & professional events, including open championships prior to 1980, Men's & Women's National Amateur events, the 32nd Queens Sirikit Cup in 2010, the NZ Men's Senior Championship 2020, The Freyberg Masters 2020, and the annual Brian Perry Classic Pro-Am
